Clifton Park, N.Y. – March 10, 2015- Employees from nfrastructure, a leading technology solutions company that partners with the world’s most admired brands to design, build, and operate infrastructure and applications for the Internet of Everything (IoE), will be hosting area middle school students as part as Junior Achievement’s Job Shadow. The hallmark of JA Job Shadow is a visit for students to a professional work environment, where they are introduced to professions and industries, and are shown the importance of professionalism in getting a job and developing a career.

JA Job Shadow prepares students to be entrepreneurial thinkers in their approach to work. It is a proven interdisciplinary program that connects the importance of academic standards to real careers in the workplace.

 

Locally, JA Job Shadow is organized though Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York (JANENY), with support from GE (Signature Sponsor) and Stewart’s Shops. In addition, the Albany Marriott sponsors a kick-off event each year, where teachers and representatives from local businesses get together to plan their JA Job Shadow visits.

 

JANENY’s goal for this year’s JA Job Shadow is to provide 900 students from the Capital Region with job shadowing opportunities. At this time 28 middle and high schools, and 36 businesses have committed to participate in 2015 JA Job Shadow event.
