2011 February · Retired Chairman of MapInfo Joins nfrastructure`s Board of Directors

Clifton Park, New York, February 7, 2011 – nfrastructure announced today that John C. Cavalier, former chairman and CEO of MapInfo Corporation and co-founder of Tech Valley High School, joined its board of directors.

During his tenure at MapInfo Corporation, a publicly-held developer of location intelligence software acquired by Pitney Bowes in 2007, Cavalier, who also served as president and CEO, was instrumental in leading the growth of MapInfo from approximately $40 million to more than $160 million in annual sales.

“John’s insight, business acumen, vision and leadership will be pivotal in launching nfrastructure to the next level. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that complements our established team and we’re honored to have him with us,” said Daniel T. Pickett, nfrastructure chairman and CEO.

“nfrastructure is well differentiated in a technology market that projects strong growth for the next five or more years,” said Cavalier.  “With the recent addition of its Technology Innovation Center at the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park® (STEP®) and the nfrastructure Center of Competency in Information Technologies (NCCIT) at SUNYIT in Utica, collaboration with partners, academia and customers to build smart technology solutions will be taken to a much higher and more impactful level.  It’s an honor to be affiliated with a well-respected and forward-thinking company,” Cavalier added.

Prior to joining MapInfo, Cavalier held executive management positions with The Antares Alliance Group, Amdahl, Atari, and Apple Computer, where he served as vice president and general manager for the Apple International Division, responsible for the Americas, Far East and Africa. At Apple, he was also vice president and general manager of the Personal Computer Division.

Cavalier’s other achievements include: the Partners in Life Long Learning Award from Excelsior College in 2010; the Explore, Discover, & Imagine Award by New York’s Children’s Museum of Science & Technology in 2007; and in 2006, Cavalier was inducted into New York State's Tech Valley's Business Hall of Fame. Additionally, Cavalier serves on the Board of The Beacon Institute of Rivers and Estuaries.

He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from Michigan State University.
