SECURITY
Overview
Today’s network environment is the result of a transformation from the functional designs of the past to the secure functional design enterprises now require. Security has become one the most important aspects of all new network designs implemented. A secure network design allows for greater network segmentation, more detailed access controls, better logging and monitoring, and the removal of single points of failure. The network’s infrastructure and architecture security is the foundation that all security is based upon. Therefore each network device must be well secured and the architecture properly designed. Simply implementing a secure-by-design architecture can mitigate many risks.
nfrastructure's security experts help our customers by developing a thorough understanding of their business and application requirements, performing detailed analyses on the current network architecture’s ability to support these requirements and designing a target architecture and transformation plan that satisfies today's requirements while also providing for future growth. nfrastructure can help you assess, plan, design, build and test your network as well as train your staff on how to maintain the new environment.
During this assessment and design, nfrastructure security experts assess the security architecture of your company's infrastructure. nfrastructure evaluates the current design structure of various security control mechanisms in place to determine their effectiveness and alignment with your company's security goals. nfrastructure’s process examines the strengths and weaknesses the technical security architecture.
Services
nfrastructure helps large enterprises Design network security infrastructure, with focus on the following:
- Technology inventory Network/Security Assessment
- Security administration procedures
- Network topology
- Network access controls
- Host access controls
- Authentication/access requirements
- Administrative and maintenance channels
- Business resumption and contingency preparedness
- Functional data flow (including security-control points)
The above listed components are assessed in three primary phases.
- Technical reviews – evaluates the current requirements, the architecture, and design for any design issues or exposures. This phase also includes a review of the policies and processes related to the network design.
- Vulnerability scanning and penetration testing – evaluate the security of each host by doing a network device vulnerability scan and penetration test.
- Stakeholder interviews – conduct an interview with the network administrator based upon industry best practices in infrastructure design and validate the documentation review findings, vulnerability scanning findings, and penetration testing findings.
